Review: Annihilation

Review-Annihilation

Alex Garland’s follow-up to Ex Machina is a masterfully constructed and hallucinatory trip that is both deeply unsettling and mind blowing in equal measure. Natalie Portman anchors a terrific cast with one of her best performances. Fans of hard sci-fi searching for their next classic need look no further as Annihilation is the most boundary-pushing and fully realized film in years. What unfolds throughout the course of the film will likely terrify you, disturb you, and leave you shaken long after you’ve left the theater. It is a highly ambitious, challenging, and visionary piece of science fiction that may very well be a masterpiece. Grade: A+
