With an outstanding ensemble at his back, Steven Spielberg turns newspaper offices and living rooms into riveting drama that is as entertaining as it is compelling. Streep and Hanks do some of their best work and are a joy to watch play off each other. The parallels to our current political climate are not understated though nor should they be as the film’s story and ideals are as timeless as they are timely. Spielberg’s best since Lincoln. Grade: A.
