A gripping, brutal, and genuinely moving neo-Western featuring one of the finest performances in a comic-book movie and Jackman’s own career best work. Logan stands tremendously on its own yet expertly draws on nearly two decades worth of films, cutting deep into a pair of iconic characters. The action is violent, bloody, and personal. It’s arguably the best of all the X-Men films, and is undoubtedly the best superhero film since The Dark Knight. Grade: A+
